I will be interviewing 50 different unique women, at every week of pregnancy. Their stories will be anonymised and included in my book. Every person interviewed will receive a £50 voucher of their choice.
If you’re interested in being interviewed, please get in touch.
I will initially contact you by SMS or WhatsApp to provide you with more information.
What is the book about?
Being pregnant with your first child can be exciting, lonely, daunting or any other emotion…. all at once. Some women choose not to tell friends and family about their pregnancy during the initial weeks and months of pregnancy, which can feel isolating. Some women may have become unexpectedly pregnant and are still deciding what they want to do. Other women may have had a long journey to becoming pregnant and are so happy to be expecting a baby, but terrified about how their life is going to change.
There is no one single way to experience pregnancy, and yet pregnant women can be made to feel that they should feel, think or behave in certain ways. This can add to the pressure that comes with all of the physical and practical changes that pregnancy with a first child brings with it.
This book will share the stories of pregnant women at every stage of pregnancy. I want to interview at least 50 different women, from the earliest stages of trying to conceive all the way through to those who are in their final days of pregnancy. I will ask them about their journey to becoming pregnant, how they are feeling right now in their pregnancy and their feelings about becoming a parent and how they expect their life to change.
I hope that when it’s published, this book will provide pregnant women with reassurance and connection with other women who are going though both similar and different experiences.
Most importantly this book will help pregnant women to feel that they are not alone, and that however they are feeling, it is ok for them to feel that way.
